Description
The session will discuss the development of evidence-based guidelines for therapeutic apheresis. These guidelines were developed by the American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) Special Issue Writing Committee for the 2013 Journal of Clinical Apheresis Special Issue. The session will also include case presentations demonstrating how to apply these guidelines and how the categories and grading have changed from the 2010 Special Issue.

  • Demonstrate how to apply evidence-based guidelines.
  • Discuss the development of the ASFA guidelines for therapeutic apheresis.
