Description
Job instruction (JI) is one of the foundational courses of training within industry (TWI) and a key building block for implementing LEAN philosophy. Job instruction training offers a simple, hands-on approach for training employees to perform repetitive tasks in all work settings. The trainers are taught to break down jobs into closely defined steps, show the procedures while explaining the key points, watch the trainee perform the task under close coaching and gradually wean the trainee from the coaching. Good job instruction creates stability, which becomes the foundation for developing true standardized work. Only then can processes be analyzed properly to find improvement. This session will demonstrate how transfusion medicine services can use this method, leading to less frustration, higher quality and increased efficiency. Examples of how our transfusion medicine service incorporated job instruction training will be shared.
