Description
This session will provide an update on how US hemovigilance data are being used to answer specific questions. The program will include an orientation and overview of data from AABBs Patient and Donor Safety Center and a discussion of important definitions. Important lessons from hemovigilance will be discussed including ways to prevent TACO, how it differs from TRALI and what transfusion services can do about it. Lastly, the use of hemovigilance data to study the impact of interventions in transfusion medicine and transfusion practice will be explored.
