This session will show how Williams College (working in partnership with Harris Connect) has developed an automated system to 'harvest' biographic updates from their alumni population. Making use of pre-populated web-based secure forms, Williams has empowered their bio-staff with a simple process that allows them to send email updates to database constituents. These email update requests can be targeted at employment updates, marriage updates, birth/adoption updates, etc. The updates submitted by alumni are automatically sent back to the bio-crew (via our Harris online alumni community) for entry to the Advance database.
The working prototype was realized in October 2010 - so the results should be measurable by the time we gather in New Orleans. If getting more done with less is on your list of things to do - stop by and check this out.
