In an effort to support strategic planning at our campuses, the Tennessee Board of Regents in collaboration with our universities and community colleges joined in a Business Intelligence Initiative to create key performance indicators (KPIs) and executive dashboards for performance management. Using SunGard Higher Education's Operational Data Store and the Enterprise Data Warehouse (ODS/EDW) as the data source and Argos by Evisions, Incorporated as the reporting tool, the initiative has resulted in the creation of over one hundred KPIs that cover Enrollment, Student, Faculty, Alumni, Finance, and Distance Learning management. The project established reliable data mappings for a robust Business Intelligence foundation within the Tennessee Board of Regents that allows web-based delivery of information for data driven decision making. The results also included an executive dashboard design and a roadmap for future Business Intelligence development that can be shared across the campuses. Examples of the KPIs and code will be shared during the presentation.
