Description
Are you an institution with more than one campus or part of a larger system? Are you looking into the efficiencies and economies of scale that Cloud computing is offering for services such as email in other areas on campus? The State University of New York (SUNY) has offered Infrastructure as a Service and academic Software as a Service for years with significant return on their investment. Recent improvements in the architecture of the Business Intelligence (BI) technologies have made them candidates for private Cloud computing.
The SUNY system introduced the SICAS Business Intelligence Program in the fall of 2010 as a set of philosophies, methodologies, and technologies in support of the effective use of information on campuses. This technical session will give an overview of how two University wide agencies are providing Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11g and SunGard Higher Education Operational Data Store 8.2 as a private Cloud based service. The technical architectures of both products and what campus technical requirements are will be covered.
