This presentation will cover our straightforward approach to Direct Loan Reconciliation at Pace University. I will cover the applicable regulations and then explain what Reconciliation really is. I will decipher the DL SAS file, review COD's Yearly Closeout process and deadlines, and cover a check list of steps to take before Closeout. I will demonstrate our simplified method of comparing the DL SAS file to the Direct Loan disbursement data in Banner using Access queries. Finally, since resolving rejects as they occur is the key to successful reconciliation, I will review examples of common causes of Rejects in Direct Loans and provide tips and guidance for clearing them. Financial Aid staff who are new to Direct Lending may find this session helpful.(I do not plan to cover DL Tools or G5.)
