In the fall of 2008, Delta State University was notified that their Title III grant application, "", had been awarded and fully funded. Two years into the award, the University has found that grant management requires diligence, commitment, and incredible record keeping and communication skills. The institution partnered with SunGard Higher Education for grants management and has found that the small investment has more than paid for itself. The institution is meeting all grant requirements, meeting all reporting timelines, and relies on SunGard to facilitate processes that would otherwise have been the responsibility of the faculty. The institution has found that this award has also resulted in increased grant applications on the campus (up 32% in two years) number of grant applications and an 18% increase in the number of awards received.
