This presentation will demonstrate how Carleton University has moved its Learning and Development course registration system into Banner. The previous system was a non-user friendly Access database that allowed duplicate user information resulting in inconsistent data. This led to difficulty in reporting and tracking employee course history. The presentation will cover what forms were created in Banner to record programs, courses and sessions. It will also cover self service options created such as employee registration, the ability to view upcoming sessions, mandatory training course withdrawal, and a history of courses completed. The topic of reporting will also be discussed and how we have met the needs of our Learning and Development staff within Human Resources.A brief history of our old system will be described to show the benefit of change.
