A successful EDW deployment depends on two critical success factors and a realistic deployment strategy. This presentation will review Kent State University's plan to address the critical elements of system quality and information quality, and will share our deployment cycle with the student centered EDW cubes. Our comfort zone consisted of a strong knowledge base of transaction reporting on our Cognos system - producing in excess of 200,000 reports per year. Well planned steps were needed to make it across the divide between our transaction reporting mindset to the new strategic view of performance and summary data, for both our functional users and our business intelligence team.
