At Bucknell, there are times when we want to augment Banner as an application and expand on functionality without making baseline modifications. We also seek to reduce and contain the number of unsupported, ad-hoc databases that some departments may develop using data reported from Banner. In order to effectively meet departmental needs for small applications that are dependent on Banner data we chose to create them alongside Banner using the Self-Service interface as our front-end. We will show you how we developed these solutions and review some of our most popular, fully integrated, "near-Banner" applications (International Education, Dean of Students Judicial Actions, Named Scholarship Tracking, Procurement Tracking, and more).
