Banner Database Extension Utility 8.0 adds six required columns to the database as part of the Banner Evolution project. The Banner Evolution is a 3 phased project
(Database Extension Utility, Horizon and MEP) intended to:
1) Enhance the user interface of Banner
2) Provide out of the box support for Multi-Entity Processing (MEP)

With the Banner Extended Database, achieved by running the Banner Database Extension Utility, SunGard Higher Education is diminishing the level of services required to make database modifications for multi-entity processing configurations, as most or all of these database changes are becoming baseline standards in Banner.
