Slot tables are often overlooked when setting up the ODS. We'll cover the different types of delivered slots available. We'll move on to how to set up the slot rules for those slots that need them, load them and use them to make reporting more efficient. We'll wrap up with creating, setting up and using your own custom slot tables. This portion of the presentation will be technical. We will be showing the pl/sql code for creating a custom address slot. Since we have implemented this custom address slot, reports using it have cut their run-times by more than 50% and eliminated the problem of dropping records from a report because they didn't have a certain address type. This presentation applies to ODS versions 8+.
