Description
Ever notice how curriculum reforms are sort of like eggs on Teflon? It doesnt take much to make them slide out of sight. Not so in Fairfax County where the middle grades Advanced Academics program has used a systematic approach to introduce and integrate Problem-Based learning into the core curriculum of their gifted magnet schools. Listen as a variety of stakeholders (teachers, administrator, consultant) describe how a very different approach to curriculum and instruction came to be accepted as a mainstay of the program. Well describe the process from creating curriculum to professional development, to collaboration with key building personnel.
