Thelma Harms is Director of Curriculum Development at the Frank Porter
Graham Child Development Institute and Research Professor Emeritus in the School of
Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned an M.A. in
Child Development and a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education at the University of
California at Berkeley, where she was Head Teacher of their Harold E. Jones Child Study
Center demonstration program for 15 years. Thelma has lectured and conducted training
throughout the U.S., as well as in Canada, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Hong Kong,
South Korea, Singapore, Australia and Russia.
Teri Talan is Director of Research and Public Policy at The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership and Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at National Louis University. She represents the McCormick Center in public policy forums and promotes action by state and national policymakers on early childhood education and program administration issues. She is also the editor of the McCormick Center's quarterly Research Notes. Previously, Dr. Talan was the Executive Director of a NAEYC-accredited early childhood program.
Linda Hassan Anderson, MA is Senior Director for the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation. Ms. Anderson has an extensive background in nonprofit management and administration, Head Start, staff training and development, family support and special education. She has served as an expert on numerous task forces and panels for the improvement of early childhood quality, education and health services both nationally and internationally.
Barbara A. Willer is NAEYC’s Deputy Executive Director for Program Recognition and Support. She leads the Program Recognition and Support Division, which sets and monitors standards of quality for programs in early childhood education for programs serving young children as well as professional preparation programs in institutions of higher education.
