Description
Strong partnerships with parents and great customer service will only get you so far. Parent satisfaction and enrollment in a program depends on many things—strong partnerships and customer service are only pieces of the puzzle. In this session, program administrators will consider the other pieces of the puzzle—what parent really want in an early care and education program for their child. Considering the parent’s point of view—what they are actually seeing and experiencing during their time in the program space has many additional pieces to the puzzle that bring parents into a program, keeps them enrolled, maintains parent satisfaction and encourages strong family engagement. The presenters came into ECE program operations from two different backgrounds and will share how their perspectives have influenced their practices in understanding and proactively meeting parents’ needs and expectations. One presenter has been working in ECE operations for over 15 years and the other had over 15 years experience in multi-site management for Starbuck’s prior to ECE. Working together for the past two years, the presenters have had many discussions, critically looking at what parents want from a program—what defines a “good program” to parents. During this session participants will learn what the two presenters have discovered and how it has impacted their approach to providing high quality ECE programs across the United States. Participants will join the discussion and practice using tools to consider the parent's perspective to build greater parent satisfaction and family engagement in their programs.
