Description
The latest research findings on infants' and toddlers' development and learning are truly remarkable and give insight into what adults need to know to support infants' and toddlers' positive social and emotional development. In this presentation participants will learn findings from recent research on young children's emotional/ social development and the implications of this research for their "best practice" with both families and children. Participants will leave the session with the "keys to quality infant/toddler care". They will learn how to get to know each infant or toddler’s unique temperament traits and personality. As well, they will become deeply aware of the importance of physical loving and the creation of intimate emotional connections, especially during everyday childcare routines; they will learn how to enhance courage and cooperation, reduce stress, and encourage mastery experiences, while providing deeply respectful teaching/care giving.
