This presentation will actively engage participants in learning about and developing deeper understanding of research based number activities that promote children’s understanding of number and quantity. Participants will create and use visual models that they will be able to incorporate into their classrooms immediately upon their return. Strategies for assessing children’s progress will be explored and recommendations for follow-up activities will be shared. All activities will be connected to NCTM Focal Points and the Common Core State Standards.
