Description
In this session, the author of The Young Child and Mathematics (a NAEYC publication) will present video clips, activities, and child samples of the activities presented in the book. Participants will be involved in some of the activities and most importantly, they will see the results of the ideas in photos of children and actual work samples. All of the illustrated activities presented have been completed in prekindergarten settings over the last year and are most often extensions of the activities discussed in The Young Child and Mathematics. Of particular interest, children's created books that illustrate word problems will be shared along with their theater presentations.
