Are your students inundated with PowerPoint presentations filled with text? Do you notice them glaze over when you use traditional PowerPoint slides in your presentations? In this workshop, we will help our audience rethink PowerPoint and how you utilize PowerPoint to reach students through workshops/presentations. We will review “sins” associated with many common PowerPoint presentations and help you avoid these “sins” to better engage your student populations. We will review ways to understand and demonstrate your understanding of current student culture through your use of media, including photographs, music and video. We will discuss the power of images and how to utilize images to elicit an emotional response from your audience to help capture their attention during your presentations.
