Description
How do you decide which career programs to present each term, especially with so many pieces of the puzzle to consider? This session will share the best practices, framework, and step-by-step group-decision-making process developed by staff at the UC Berkeley Career Center to arrive at an array of career events that meets the expectations of key student populations and campus partners, covers high interest career fields and trends, and is grounded in learning objectives. Other key issues such as staff resources and marketing are addressed by this systematic and highly participatory program planning process. You will also learn concepts and methods for engaging a career center staff in group decision-making that lead to the development of a comprehensive and innovative plan and a staff that is invested in its success. Presenters will model facilitative techniques and there will be opportunities for you to practice them and reflect on how to apply them at your organization.
