If you've been "strongly encouraged" to hop on the assessment bandwagon, but are feeling a little less than enthusiastic, this session is for you! The UMBC Career Services Center uses an intentional, learning-outcomes-based assessment model. This session will provide an overview of the basics of good assessment, with a focus on outcomes, and the nuts and bolts of developing and implementing a written assessment plan. Examples and lessons from the UMBC center's first outcomes-based assessment project and the current effort at unit-level self-assessment using the NACE Professional Standards will be presented and discussed.
