Track : Track 2 — Neuroscience
Program Code: 206
Date: Monday, October 3, 2011
Time: 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM  EST
SPEAKER (S):
Brad Lowell, Harvard University
Scott Sternson, Howard Hughes Medical Institute
Dayu Lin, New York University
Description

Learning Objectives:
  1. Review new tools for mapping and manipulating neural circuits.
  2. Discuss where these tools are facilitating progress in understanding the neurocircuit basis of energy balance regulation.
  3. Identify an entry point of aggression circuit in male mice
  4. Describe the interplay between the highly intermingled aggression and reproduction circuits in mice.
  5. Explain a neural circuit for AGRP neuron regulation of feeding behavior.
  6. Discuss methods for mapping and manipulating genetically-specified hypothalamic neural circuits.
