Description
No film in the Harry Potter franchise has endured as much fandom scrutiny as Alfonso Cuaron's "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," the movie hailed as an artistic masterpiece at the same time as it was condemned for its radical revision of the Harry Potter filmic identity. Through a multimedia examination of Film Three, this presentation aims to explore the vision of the man behind the most "controversial" Harry Potter film installment, look at blockbuster filmmaking from the standpoint of a director, and find a basis for defending the decisions that Cuaron made as director of "Prisoner of Azkaban." In so doing, we will not only find a standard for judging the series and all its directors, but most importantly, find a way to cope when Hollywood cinema decides to alter our favorite books!
