Dr. Steven Grinspoon is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Mass General Hospital (MGH) Program in Nutritional Metabolism, and Clinical Director of the MGH Neuroendocrine Clinical Center. He also co-directs the Harvard Clinical Nutrition Research Center. His work has focused on the effects of nutrition on neuroendocrine function in HIV-infected patients, investigating the effects of hypothalamic growth hormone (GH) stimulating peptides, GH and gonadal steroids on body composition and metabolic parameters. He has extensively studied visceral adiposity, metabolic and hormonal changes associated with HIV disease, as a model of acquired tissue wasting and fat redistribution.
