Francesco Orio MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Endocrinology at University “Parthenope” of Naples and Clinical Endocrinologist at Endocrinology of Fertile Age, Sterility Structure, University Hospital “S. Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona” Salerno, Italy. After earning his medical degree from the “Federico II” University of Naples, Italy, Dr Orio completed his residency training at the Second University of Naples and was Research fellow at the laboratory of Molecular Pathology on the Nuclear Receptors, INSERM U439, University of Montpellier. He got his PhD Fellow of Endocrinology and Metabolic Sciences at Molecular and Clinical Endocrinology and Oncology, "Federico II" University of Naples working on Gynecological Endocrinology moreover on the androgen excess disorders in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Dr Orio’s primary areas of research interest include: polycystic ovary syndrome, androgen excess disorders, metabolic syndrome, obesity and type 2 diabetes. He has been author or coauthor for various publications, including national and international book chapters and several articles in peer-reviewed journals (more than 150). Dr Orio is a member of numerous professional and scientific organizations, including the Endocrine Society, the Androgen Excess Disorders PCOS Society, the Italian Society of Endocrinology, the Medical Association of Endocrinologist, the Italian Society of Obesity.
