John Newell-Price qualified in medicine at the University of Cambridge, and undertook his clinical endocrine specialist training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital under the leadership of Mike Besser. During this time he worked for his PhD in Adrian Clark’s molecular endocrinology lab. Since 2000 John has been at the University of Sheffield, where he is the clinical lead for pituitary disease and neuroendocrine tumors. His research interests include glucocorticoids and pituitary tumors, especially Cushing’s disease. John is Associate Editor of ‘Clinical Endocrinology’ and is on the Editorial Board of JCEM. He has served on the Endocrine Society’s Task force for the guidelines for the diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome, and has spoken regularly at Endocrine Society Annual meetings and other international congresses. John chairs committees for the UK Society for Endocrinology and The Royal College of Physicians.
