Dr. DeBoer completed his medical school training at the University of Arizona and performed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Virginia. He completed his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also obtained a Master's in Clinical Research. Dr. DeBoer is now an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Virginia. He is involved in research related to ethnic differences in the metabolic syndrome, as well as the ability for childhood metabolic syndrome to predict adult disease.
