Dr. Robert A. He received his MD and internal medicine training at Johns Hopkins and did his endocrinology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He teaches endocrinology and inpatient general medicine to medical students, medical residents, fellows, and pharmacy residents. He established a VAMC Metabolic Bone Disease Clinic devoted to disorders of bone and mineral metabolism. He has received awards for excellence in teaching. Recent studies focus on screening men for osteoporosis and determining which men on androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer need treatment for osteoporosis. He is a member of several medical and scientific societies and is a reviewer for NIH grants as well as for more than 30 professional journals.
