Priscilla A. Furth, Professor of Oncology, Georgetown University was educated at Brown (Sc.B.), Yale (M.D.) and Mount Sinai, NYC (Internal Medicine residency) with fellowships at Harvard (Infectious Disease) and NIH (Tumor Virus Biology) and a Humboldt Fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen, Germany.
She conducts basic research in the genetics of breast cancer pathophysiology and is a practicing physician in fitness and metabolism for cancer survivors. She and her research team explore the molecular etiology of the earliest stages of cancer, determine how they serve to promote cancer progression, and test strategies to reverse them. Her work is supported by the National Cancer Institute, NIH, DOD, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and private industry and has resulted in over 100 publications.
