Robert C. Smallridge is Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He is the Chair of the Endocrinology Division at Mayo Clinic Florida and is a Deputy Director for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. He attended Yale University and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and his endocrinology and metabolism fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He then spent 19 years at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research before joining Mayo Clinic in 1996. His clinical and research interests have been in the area of thyroid diseases, especially during pregnancy and postpartum, and in thyroid cancer. He is past Treasurer of The American Thyroid Association and a member of the Editorial Board of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
