Nelson B. Watts, MD is Professor of Medicine at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Director of the University of Cincinnati Bone Health and Osteoporosis Center. His major research interest is in osteoporosis, particularly the study of therapeutic agents and tests for diagnosis and monitoring. He currently serves on the ABIM subspecialty board in Endocrinology and Metabolism, is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Densitometry and is on the editorial board of Osteoporosis International. He has served as President of the American College of Endocrinology, President of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and Chair of the FDA’s Advisory Committee for Endocrine and Metabolic Drugs and is active in numerous professional organizations. He has published more than 50 books and book chapters and more than 350 abstracts and articles in such journals as the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
