RONALD S. SWERDLOFF, MD, is Chief, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, Professor of Medicine and Associate Chair, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Swerdloff is also Director, Harbor-UCLA Reproductive Program, World Health Organization Collaborative Center for Reproduction, and NIH Clinical Contraceptive Trials Unit. He earned his MD from the University of California, San Francisco, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at University of Washington and UCLA, fellowships in Endocrinology at the National Institute of Aging and Harbor-UCLA. He is a Diplomat, American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine and Endocrinology). He has received many awards including the Distinguished Educator Award of the Endocrine Society and American Society of Andrology’s Distinguished Andrologist Award. Dr. Swerdloff has been an invited plenary lecturer at many National and International scientific meetings. His research papers, articles, and abstracts number in the 600s, and he has edited a number of books and authored over 100 book chapters.
