It is widely documented that EA services make a positive difference on sick leave, incidence of workplace accidents, worker's compensation and health insurance expenditures. More recently, EA services have been demonstrated to provide benefits to employees with a short-term disability. Trends in the disability management sector are toward linkage and integration of EA services to improve claims outcomes. This session will present national disability management industry trends and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's unique model of leveraging its resources as employer, EAP and disability administrator into an integrated disability management program with a focus on service integration and delivery.

Objectives:
• identify significant research outcomes supportive of EAP roles in disability management;
• identify trends in the disability management sector which present opportunities for EAP service development;
• identify significant outcomes and lessons learned in implementation of an integrated disability management/EAP model.
