Description
The degree of success of EA interventions to restore employee productivity raises significant questions from stakeholders. This study identified which interventions mediated EA effectiveness. Participants completed the Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation, with additional data gathered from semi-structured interviews. Findings suggest structured counselling enhanced well-being, functioning, and reduced symptoms/problem severity. The therapeutic relationship was mediated by the client's perceived competence of the counsellor. Results provide evidence to support phased intervention as a viable EA protocol aimed at restoring functional productivity of valued staff.
A modified version of the Phase model using CORE is proposed to demonstrate effectiveness and measure outcome.

Objectives:
• demonstrate a system of EAP effectiveness to stakeholders;
• identify problem trends with employees at various worksites;
• interpret real data and extract useful information to streamline EA practice.
