Description
The World EAP Conference's first Concepts and Theory workshop will focus on the contributions of Professor Harrison Trice who successfully integrated the fields of occupational and organizational sociology with the study of alcohol and drugs at work. Among other issues the panel will explore the seminal impact of "Spirits and Demons at Work: Alcohol and Other Drugs on the Job" (Trice and Roman 1972). The impact of this work on core technology and the employee assistance field will be discussed. The current and future relevance of Professor Trice's will be explored.
Objectives:
• to promote an understanding of the major concepts and theories introduced to the field by Harrison Trice;
• to emphasize the importance of evidence based research;
• to increase appreciation of the contemporary significance of these concepts and theories.
