The global financial crisis has hit the world hard but the business of education goes on. Students still need to be taught, teachers’ skills still need to be developed, and those admin meetings will not go away. The Wollongong Catholic Education Office in Australia has attempted to address these issues by making it possible for students, teachers, and administration officers to meet and collaborate using highdefinition video conferencing. HiDEF VC has enabled the Diocese to offer a wider range of subject selections and experiences to our students. HiDEF VC has also allowed the Diocese’s various school staffs and students to team teach and learn from each other without leaving their own schools. HiDEF VC has changed the way interschool faculties collaborate and has allowed for more and longer professional development sessions.
