This session will have a panel discussion of how global education initiatives using social media enable youths to shape a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable world. Participants will explore the educational value of using global online communities to enhance learning experiences of youths. Examples include School 2.0 and the TakingITGlobal (TIG) initiative, which operates the world’s most popular online community for youths. With a growing membership of 300,000 in 200 countries, TIG has reached 10 million youth since its launch in 2000.
