Description
The U.S. Education Department selected 49 grantees for the 2010 Investing in Innovation Fund (i3) grant. I3 winners were selected from among nearly 1,700 applicants for funding from a cross-section of school districts, institutions of higher education and nonprofit education organizations. The i3 fund will support local efforts to start or expand research-based innovative programs that help close the achievement gap and improve outcomes for high-need students. Our panel will feature several i3 awardees who will share their truly innovative approaches to educational technology, how they plan to close achievement gaps, improve student proficiency, increase graduation rates and recruit and retain high-quality teachers and principals.
