Description
Nearly $2.25 billion is spent annually on e-Rate which has resulted in exponential growth in the number of IT assets and the complexity of the technological infrastructure in our nation's schools. However the program does not provide any additional funding to increase tech support personnel proportionally. With 1:1 computing emerging as the "gold standard" and stimulus funds starting to flow we are heading into a perfect storm of "too much IT stuff not enough IT staff". This session- which discusses the results of the 3rd annual survey of IT professional in K-12 public schools which was conducted in conjunction with CoSN- will put real quantitative data behind this issue and discuss strategies to overcome it.
