Description
"Learning is no longer preparation for the job - it is the job. Preparing today's students for a global knowledge-based economy is a demanding challenge that no teacher should be expected to do alone. We have an urgent need and an unprecedented opportunity to transform our schools from teaching organizations into learning organizations. The National Commission on Teaching and America's Future (NCTAF) is developing Learning Studios to support rapid prototyping of 21st Century Learning spaces in partnership with NASA Goddard Space Center. NCTAF President Tom Carroll and Kathleen Fulton Director Reinventing Schools for the 21st Century will share their strategy for scaling up Learning Studios across the country. Bob Wise President of the Alliance for Excellent Education will bring to the session a national perspective on education reform and discuss what role technology can play in being a catalyst to transform schools into 21st century learning organizations.
