Description
Technology leadership presents special challenges for superintendents for good reasons. Chief among them is that the focus of educational technology is changing rapidly from putting in place a solid infrastructure to using technology systematically to change educational practices and significantly improve results. Superintendents recognize that technology is critically and increasingly important in education. They embrace their leadership role as technology advocates who create the vision and set the tone for technology use in their districts but realize challenging aspects of building and sustaining a technology-rich culture. This session focuses on critical factors for superintendents district technology leaders and state association leaders who want to realize the full transformative value of technology. We will discuss themes and action steps for technology leadership which emerged from CoSN's extensive conversations with superintendents and from topics that are gaining national- and international-interest among educators parents policymakers and the business community.
