Description
Learn how Avon Community Schools a rapidly growing district near Indianapolis has put its notification service to work to achieve unparalleled gains in just a few years in attendance and parent satisfaction while saving money. In 2006 – 2007 two of Avon Community Schools’ intermediate/middle schools lost their Four Star status – an important AYP distinction in Indiana – because of high rates of absences and tardies. SchoolMessenger was called in to provide comprehensive district-wide attendance notification with the result that the district cut unexcused absences nearly in half (by 46%) and decreased excused absences by 18% in two years. In this interactive session participants will learn about how the notification service was deployed to achieve these gains and support other district-wide improvement efforts and how the district leverages its existing network to reduce the ongoing costs.
