"The session will provide an up-to-date summary of recent efforts to improve R&D networking for neglected and emerging diseases of the poor. These will include follow-up to the 2007 Hi-Level Noordwijk Medicines Agenda as well as other international initiatives in the public and private sectors. The session will provide an opportunity for participants to identify new partners and programs to develop leads for these major public health needs."
Objective1:Raise awareness among innovators and policymakers about frontline international efforts to improve R&D efficiency for diseases of the poor.
Objective2:Provide the opportunity for other innovators to join international networking efforts.
Objective3:Illustrate the respective roles of the public and private sector in developing the policy environment for and in delivering such networks.
