Description
Strong practices are necessary to ensure excellence in patient care. Practice leaders are now confronting a perplexing and harsh new reality. Enabling practices to survive this financial tsunami intact and preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead after the economic crisis is over are daunting tasks. Identifying appropriate tools to help assess organizational effectiveness and support the critical decisions, including the re-evaluation of the staffing model, is crucial.

Compliance with laws, regulations and ethical standards is key to the development of efficient, productive business
strategies and expansion of market share. Aggressive practice growth and development involves balancing financial goals, patient perspective, internal processes, and learning and innovation in overall administration. Electronic media are crucial to maintaining a competitive practice. Practice leaders need to understand how websites and the Internet can be used for promotion, as well as the effect of blogs, chat rooms, doctor review websites, etc., on business strategies.

Designed for practice managers, this course will address administrative, legal and electronic issues in reproductive
medicine practices. Discussions will focus on setting and measuring benchmarks, effects of the Internet on a practice, compliance with and implementation of SART advertising guidelines, and the latest information on workplace law.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Use metrics and dashboards to assess a practice’s current state of affairs, relevant warnings and action steps needed for increased organizational performance.
2. Discuss marketing options on the Internet, as well as how to be proactive in reviewing patient opinions.
3. Evaluate SART advertising, including websites and print material, to ensure compliance with the new 2008 Revised SART Advertising Policy.
4. Identify the most significant employment laws passed in both the Bush and Obama administrations and describe in detail the revised FMLA and ADA laws.
