Description
Learning Objectives:
Identify medical patients who are at risk for VTE and conduct patient specific risk-stratification. Compare and contrast efficacy and safety of various pharmacologic agents used for prophylaxis of VTE in medical patients. Given specific patients scenarios, select appropriate prophylaxis for VTE in medical patients at risk. Review proposed National Consensus Standards for Prevention and Care of Venous Thromboembolism. Explain the potential impact of the 2007 JCAHOŽ proposed Patient Safety Goals.
