Learning Objectives:
  • Describe the changes published in the ACPE standards and guidelines in relationship to experiential education and students? involvement in patient care at a health system level.
  • Describe the impact these changes will have on preceptors, training of students and residents, and the healthcare system.
  • Identify examples of different models used to efficiently incorporate students into patient care.
  • Develop more effective mentoring relationships between clinicians and residents, residents and APE students, and unique educational levels among students.
