Networking Session Hosted by the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners' Advisory Group on Medication Safety

Various national events and crises have occurred that have provided a watershed opportunity for pharmacists to assure their health professional colleagues that pharmacist leadership and collaboration will be essential in regaining the public's trust regarding safe medication practices.  This networking session will explore several hot topics in the field of patient and medication safety and all healthcare professionals responsible for safety policies at their institutions are encouraged to attend.

• Never let a crisis go to waste: Assuring pharmacist leadership in times of national crises
• The jury is still out:  Settling the debate if only pharmacists are qualified to be Medication Safety Officers
• What's in a name? Avoiding patient care silos - approaching practice from an interprofessional versus multidisciplinary perspective
