Heath Jennings, PharmD, BCPS, Executive Director of Pharmacy, University of Chicago Medical Center
Heath R Jennings, PharmD, BCPS is the Executive Director of Pharmacy and Director of Graduate Pharmacy Education at the University of Chicago Medical Center where he is responsible for operational and clinical pharmacy services as well as seven different pharmacy residency programs. A passion for clinical education, Dr. Jennings collaborates with local colleges of pharmacy where he teaches didactically in applied cardiovascular therapeutics and precepts advanced practice pharmacy student experiences in health-system pharmacy practice. Dr. Jennings has been involved in experiential education and pharmacy residency training for over ten years. He has initiated PGY1 and PGY2 training programs and non-traditional clinical training programs in both community hospital and academic medical center settings. He has also collaborated with state and regional affiliates to promote expansion of residency training opportunities, development of novel preceptor-resident training models, and enhancement of the resident-student relationship paradigm. Active in ASHP, Dr. Jennings currently serves as a member of the ASHP Commission on Credentialing and as a delegate for the ASHP House of Delegates. He has published in and provides referee services to variety of professional journals and is recognized nationally and internationally for his work in clinical pharmacy training models. His recognitions include the ASHP Best Practice Award, Kentucky Pharmacist of the Year, KHA Quality Award, and Ernest Amory Codman Award.
