Description
Leaders in medication safety get pulled in so many directions. Many aspects of the medication use process have a safety dimension, and can be made a medication safety action. How do you prioritize your efforts to achieve the most improvement with your limited time and resources? Identify a framework to prioritize your work to truly transform your hospital’s medication use process.

  • Apply an approach to prioritizing your medication safety efforts that considers which activities will truly improve the medication use system.
  • Compare and contrast factors related to prioritizing from the perspective of type of hospital, such as, a community, small, large system.
  • Differentiate productive medication safety activities from activities focused on operations, regulations, or accreditation.
